TourneyStation help
Quick answers for tournament directors, venue teams, and event organizers.
Getting started
+How do I run my first tournament?
Create an account, open the director console, create a tournament, add or import entrants, set seeds, choose a bracket format, and generate the bracket. Assign tables or courts, share the public board, and send match notifications if you need them. Your first tournament includes the full toolkit and SMS notifications.
+What is free and what is paid?
Free Director supports one live tournament at a time with up to 16 entrants. A $12 Single Tournament unlocks one complete event up to 64 entrants. Director supports up to five concurrent live events, while Venue Full Service supports up to 20 plus staff and organization tools. See Pricing for current details.
+Which bracket formats are supported?
Single Elimination, Modified Single Elimination, and Double Elimination are available on every plan. Plans differ by event size, concurrency, notification support, and operations tools - not by bracket type.
Registration and entrants
+Why can’t players sign up yet?
A public registration form opens only when the tournament status is set to Registration. Draft tournaments stay private to the director, even when registration settings have already been saved.
+How do cash entries and custom registration questions work?
Set an entry cost and the public registration page will tell entrants that cash is due on tournament day. You can also configure capacity, optional or required skill level, doubles partner name and skill level, and custom questions. Directors review registrations, then approve, waitlist, or decline them.
+How do I import or export an entrant list?
On Entrants, paste a roster or import CSV and Excel-style data. When you are ready to save a copy, use the entrant export buttons for CSV, Excel, or a Google Docs-ready file.
+Can I reuse the same registration setup?
Director and Venue plans can save registration templates. Applying a template copies its registration fields and questions into a tournament; later edits to the template do not change an existing event.
Running the event
+How do table assignment and the public board work?
Assign ready matches to tables or courts from the director console, then share the public tournament link with players and spectators. The public page can show the bracket, standings, Now Playing, On Deck, and a floor map when one is configured.
+Can players report their own result?
Yes. Player result-submit links let each participant report a winner without creating an account. The director keeps control of the official record. When matching-result auto-advance is enabled, matching reports can advance a match automatically.
+What happens if players disagree on a result?
Conflicting player reports stay in Result Review instead of changing the official bracket. The director reviews the reports and confirms the actual outcome before the bracket advances.
+What should I do with a late add, bye, or correction?
Make roster and seed changes before play begins whenever possible. After a bracket exists, late additions are benched until you reseat them manually or regenerate the draw. A completed result can be cleared when a correction is needed, provided downstream routing can be safely restored.
Notifications
+How do SMS match notifications work?
Paid plans and the $12 Single Tournament include match-assignment support and SMS notifications. Free Director can add that support for $5.15 per month. Players receive messages when called to a table or court when notifications are enabled for the event.
+How do I see who received a notification?
Open the tournament’s Notifications area. Delivery history shows the recipient, provider, status, and sent time so you can review deliveries and investigate failures.
+What does STOP do?
A recipient who replies STOP is suppressed from future SMS until they reply START. This is a carrier compliance control. Future-event follower alerts are separate from messages about the tournament they entered.
+Why did a player not get a text?
Check that the entrant has a valid phone number, has not opted out with STOP, and that notification support is active for the tournament. Then review the delivery history for the provider’s status or failure detail.
Accounts, billing, and Venue tools
+Where do I manage billing and invoices?
Open Account & Billing from the director console to review your plan, open the Stripe billing portal, update payment details, cancel at period end, and view available invoice receipts.
+What does Venue Full Service add?
Venue Full Service adds additional staff logins, recurring tournament series, multi-location analytics, follower audiences, organization-wide people history, and shared location operations for businesses running many events.
+What is the difference between People history and Followers?
People history records people and contacts who have appeared across your organization’s events. Followers are people who opted in to hear about future events from a business or location. Entering one event does not automatically make someone a follower.
+How do I get support?
Signed-in directors can use Report an issue in the director console and track the case there. You can also email support@tourneystation.com. Include your organization and tournament name when you need help with a live event.
