Fill a bye with a late arrival

Seat a benched late arrival without regenerating the whole tournament.

Before you begin

Add the player in Entrants / Seeding. Use an eligible first-round bye whose affected downstream matches have not started.

    Add player

    Late arrival starts benched

  2. 2

    Fill this BYE

    Fill BYE

Confirm, then check the new matchup

  1. 1

    Find the first-round bye

On Bracket, locate the intended player-versus-BYE match and select Fill this BYE.

  2. 2

    Choose the entrant

Select the late arrival from the eligible candidates. A second dialog previews the matchup and downstream changes.

  3. 3

    Review before applying

Read which player is removed from a later waiting match and which loser feed returns to waiting. Check the statements about tables, messages, and event status. Cancel if this is not the intended change.

  4. 4

    Confirm and inspect

Select Fill BYE. Confirm the success message and the two player names on the former bye. A queued matchup still needs an available table before it can start.

What to check afterward

The entrant occupies the former bye and the dependent match feeds reflect the new matchup.

If the action is unavailable or rejected, review the affected matches. Do not force a redraw to bypass a downstream match already in play.
