Add players

Add a player or import a roster, then review attendance and bracket seating separately.

Before you begin

Open a tournament you can manage. Have player names ready; contact details and rankings are optional.

Workflow at a glanceIllustrated overview · labels match the guide below
  1. 1

    Entrants / Seeding

Add a name or preview a pasted roster

  2. 2

    Review the roster

Check names and optional contact details

  3. 3

    Check seating

Late additions start on the bench

  1. 1

    Open Entrants / Seeding

Use the tournament's left navigation. Enter Name, then optional Rank / seed, Skill, Phone 1, Phone 2, and Email. Select Add.

  2. 2

    Or preview an import

Under Import CSV / Excel text / paste, paste spreadsheet cells or CSV text, or choose Load .csv / .txt file. You can also paste one name per line. Review the import preview before applying it; an Excel workbook is not uploaded directly.

  3. 3

    Append or replace deliberately

Append import adds to the roster. Replace all replaces it and is rejected while a bracket exists. Do not clear a live bracket just to add players; append instead. Back up before any intentional rebuild.

  4. 4

    Check notification availability

Notify by SMS appears only when account capability and tournament SMS are enabled; Notify by email depends on email availability. Review the player's choices and contact details. Adding a player or assigning a table does not itself send a match notification.

  5. 5

    Record attendance

Select Mark present in the player's row. Here and a time record their arrival. Use Filter to switch between All, Present, Not present, and RSVP views. Presence does not unbench or seat a player.

  6. 6

    Seat a late arrival

A player added after generation starts on the bench. On Bracket, use Fill this BYE for an eligible first-round bye and review its preview. Adding the name alone does not change an existing matchup.

What to check afterward

The roster contains the player. Check their attendance and bench state before expecting them to appear in a match.
